Royal Ploughing Ceremony

01/05/2010 - 31/05/2010
Place: Sanam Luang

This special Hindu-influenced event takes place to signify the start of the rice-growing season. Attended by the King, ceremonial dress is donned and Royal Plough is taken through Bangkok's Sanam Luang Park by sacred oxen, which is done to help bring an abundant crop the following season.

Sanam Luang is only a short stroll Khao San Road, and is also close to the Chao Praya River, and easily accessible by boat.
